Marrying Your First Love: Queenie and Troy’s Heartfelt Wedding in Davao City

Imagine marrying your first and greatest love—your best friend, your confidant, and your other half.

For Queenie and Troy, love has always been rooted in commitment, friendship, and honesty. Their wedding was a beautiful reflection of the life they have built together—intentional, heartfelt, and deeply personal. Every detail was thoughtfully curated like treasured keepsakes, with each supplier working hand in hand with them to bring their vision to life.

Their chosen palette of coral and pastel hues added softness and warmth to the celebration. Coral symbolizes joy, enthusiasm, and emotional connection, while pastels represent tenderness, calmness, and new beginnings—perfectly mirroring a young couple choosing to celebrate their dream wedding on their own terms, with grace and authenticity.

One of the most touching parts of the ceremony was the reserved seat for Queenie’s father, who had already passed away. Though physically absent, his presence was deeply felt throughout the day. It was a simple yet powerful gesture that honored his memory and the role he continues to hold in Queenie’s life.

Another detail I fondly remember was their preparation venue at Domecillo in Davao. The homey and laid-back atmosphere felt so intimate and genuine—exactly the kind of setting I naturally gravitate toward as a photographer. There is something about spaces that feel lived in, warm, and familiar that allows emotions to unfold so effortlessly.

The preparation was filled with meaningful family moments. Being both a photographer and a relative who knows their story, I found myself a little teary-eyed while documenting Queenie with her mother. In those quiet in-between moments, I couldn’t help but remember Queenie’s father and imagine how proud he would have been to witness this day.

During the reception, I was especially drawn to the beautifully styled tablescape and the timeless charm of their one-layer circular cake with its vintage-inspired design. It was understated yet elegant—proof that beauty often lies in thoughtful simplicity.

At the end of it all, what stood out most was Queenie and Troy’s joy. After years of growing together, loving each other, and choosing one another through every season, they finally stepped into the beginning of their happily ever after.
