New Destination: Shamcey Supsup-Lee's Museum-Gallery { General Santos City }

The Walking Eyes brings you to the newest destination in town- a farm with a museum and gallery dedicated to one of General Santos City's famous personalities. She has packed punches in many ways from being an Iskolar ng Bayan, an architect, a businesswoman, an artist, a beauty queen, a wife, and a daughter. She is Shamcey Supsup-Lee.

In January of this year, her family opened the Shamcey Supsup-Lee gallery and museum at their farm in Purok 7, San Felipe in General Santos City.

The gallery and museum was the brainchild of her mother Marcey Gurrea Supsup, who thought of collating the personal items, photos, and artworks of her daughter. But the project was realized with support from the family and with her collaboration with her daughter.

Shamcey brought Generals and many Filipinos around the world pride when she placed third at the 2011 Miss Universe.

Being a beauty queen put her in the spotlight, which she used as a platform for her advocacies in education among others.

Since her 2011 success as a beauty queen, which undoubtedly inspired her successors to keep placing in the top ranks of the Miss Universe, Shamcey has moved on to continue her career as an architect and entrepreneur.

Her talents and skills as an artist are also shown in her paintings displayed in the gallery along with other Filipino artists. The cost of the paintings range from Php 12,000- Php 150,000.

The primary aim of the museum with an art gallery is to inspire people, particularly students to work hard in order to realize their dreams.

The city tourism office is promoting the Shamcey Supsup-Lee museum-gallery as a tourist destination. We recommend you visit it too. It is worth the tour, and the entrance fee is only Php25.00 per person.

While Shamcey is enjoying her life now more as a private citizen, her museum-gallery will continue to introduce many people to her work and journey.
