Singapore Newborn & Portrait Photography Session with Palanca and Pascua Families

We've shared many tender moments with clients in the past, as we are given a privilege to share a day with them documenting their family moments. But newborn sessions hold a special place in our hearts.

The Palancas was just shy of 8 days giving birth to a healthy baby boy when we had a newborn session with them in their home in Serangoon, Singapore.

Love x Metaphor did several costume changes for baby Nate, using hypoallergenic clothing. Nate was comfortable donning a knitted police cap. In another set of photos, he looks like a champion in his knitted boxer shorts and gloves. He also has the magical charm, wearing a pair of glasses and holding a wand while snuggled in a scarf, a la Harry Potter. But his best photo, we think, is catching him with a smile while dreaming.

Proud new parents Daddy Jam and Mommy Lan held baby Nate in a protective embrace in their family portrait. Such a vision of calm and assuredness.

The photo session did not end with Palanca family portrait. Right after, we packed our equipment, and drove to the Chinese Gardens in Jurong East for a family reunion with Mommy Lan's sister Maric and their mom, Aying.

Lan planned the family surprise for having a photoshoot with her older sister and her mom . Lan’s gesture gave Maric and Mama Aying a chance to spend time with the newest member of the family, Baby Nate.

The trio enjoyed having their photos taken at the Chinese Gardens' Main Arch Building, and at the Twin Pagodas right by the lake. Both are popular photo spots for visitors, but we were lucky to visit the Chinese Gardens at a time when it was less busy, so we did not have to compete for a photo spot with other visitors.

In a photo, Mama Aying stands at the edge of the bank, and looks ahead over the lake with a smile, her face illuminated by the afternoon sun. In other photos she is surrounded by her daugthers, her family, her rock.

In the lovely sunset, the Pascua women of two generations strengthen their familial bond by celebrating each other's presence. For them, while the future holds hope, the present is as much important to cherish for relationships to deepen.
